Danya Weiner
When I tell people that I'm a food photographer everyone asks, "Is it real food that you photograph? Do you eat it after the shoot?" My answer is yes and yes- everything that I shoot is real and I do eat the food I photograph. I guess I have one of the coolest jobs as I spend most of my days amongst the best chefs in Israel, photographing, eating, and then I do it all over again.
I finished my B.A. in Photography from Hadassah college ten years ago and since then I've been photographing food. I have a charming studio in the heart of Jaffa, where I shoot for cookbooks, food articles in the Israeli culinary magazine, Al Hashulchan and all sorts of other clients from the food industry-you can check out my work at my website www.danyaphoto.com to get an impression of the work that I do.

I actually don't like telling people what I do, because it can never just end with that. When I tell people that I am a food stylist- they get this really funny look on their faces- like "Did I really just hear that?" So yes- I am a food stylist-meaning I make food (and the setting which surrounds it) look beautiful.
I started out (or ended up, after a B.A. and almost M.A. in International Relations) at culinary school in Israel (where I moved from LA in 2003). From there I went to work in the kitchen at some of the top restaurants in Tel Aviv, until it took away my love for home cooking. So I went back to the basics- making good food that looks as good as it tastes. Now I'm doing what I love, food styling and editing cookbooks, and I'm here to share my love for beautiful cooking with the rest of you. What a fabulous blog you have going! The styling, photography and writing are all great, and the recipes that I've looked through so far are compelling. I know that sage and apple browned chicken is going to make it to my dinner table very soon. Shaily, Danya and Deanna, congratulations on a job well done!

A friend sent me a link to one of your recipes- it looked great, but was in Hebrew... and it just takes me forever to read Hebrew- how excited I was to discover, that you also have everything in English! All the Photos look so appealing and wonderful and to read the texts just want me to go straight to the kitchen and try everything! A huge compliment to all three of you!
